In our continued commitment to promoting education in Cambodia, LOLC Microfinance Institution has announced the laptop Awars program, which will grant computers as gifts to students who achieved an A grade in the 2024 BacII exam. This program was announced in March 2024. And is available to the children of LOLC customers. Following the recent announcement of the 2024 BacII exam results by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, LOLC is proud to recognize that a total of 46 students, who are children of LOLC customers, achieved an A grade.
To celebrate the outstanding achievement of both the students and LOLC customers, LOLC organized a laptop Award program for students who received an A grade. The event was held on the morning of December 10, 2024, at Tonle Bassac II Restaurant.

Sok Voeun, CEO of LOLC, personally presided over the ceremony. He explained that each of the lucky students is a child of one of LOLC’s clients, adding that the event reflects the institution's commitment to promoting education in Cambodia. Also in attendance were senior members of the LOLC management team and staff, as well as the parents and guardians of the students.
Sok Voeun said that organising the laptop and certificate presentation ceremony aims to encourage the A grade students to continue to strive for academic excellence and become valuable human resources for the nation. In addition, the laptops will support students in their studies and research as they enter university.

“Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world and achieve meaningful development. When students acquire good knowledge, they can transform their own futures, improve their families’ well-being and contribute to a better and more prosperous society,” noted the CEO.

In Nary, an A-grade student from Siem Reap, expressed her gratitude for the recognition. She also explained that receiving the laptop from LOLC would be invaluable for supporting her research and studies as she enters university. She hoped similar offers would be made available for future A grade students and encouraged the next generation to work hard in their studies, achieve excellent academic results and take advantage of the many opportunities that come after graduating from high school.

At the same time, Ouk Dara, the guardian of an A-grade student from Phnom Penh, stated that the award serves as an inspiration for students to study harder. As a customer of LOLC, he expressed hope that Cambodia’s largest microfinance institution will continue such initiatives to contribute to the development of education in the country. He added that LOLC is a microfinance institution that has consistently supported society through various activities in the past. He believed that the continuation of such initiatives will strengthen customer confidence and increase support for LOLC.

LOLC organized this program as a gesture of appreciation to our valued customers for their trust in and continued use of LOLC’s products and services, including our deposit and loan customers, as well as those utilizing LOLC’s digital services. We also take this opportunity to extend our heartfelt congratulations to the parents whose children have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement through their hard work and dedication.
